Fujian Province has cemented its position as China’s leading lithium battery exporter, supported by a well-developed industry that spans raw material sourcing, manufacturing, and global distribution. As the world accelerates its transition to renewable energy, Fujian’s role in the sector has become increasingly significant. According to Xiamen Customs, the province exported 20 billion yuan worth of lithium batteries in the first two months of this year, a 17% increase from the same period last year. Fujian has led the nation in lithium battery exports for 20 consecutive months.

Germany and the United States remain Fujian’s top export destinations, with shipments totaling 7.994 billion yuan and 7.988 billion yuan, up 35.88% and 68.95% year-on-year, respectively. Meanwhile, exports to emerging markets such as Austria, India, and New Zealand posted explosive growth, surging 1,185.95%, 678.3%, and 471.33%, respectively.

To help lithium battery manufacturers expand their global reach, Xiamen Customs has introduced several measures to streamline exports:A “pre-declaration + direct loading” system at ports ensures refrigerated containers of hazardous goods clear customs without delays. Dedicated fast-track channels prioritize inspections for major enterprises, improving efficiency. A “consolidated declaration and batch shipment” model simplifies procedures for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) with fragmented orders, cutting clearance times. These initiatives have significantly boosted export efficiency, further strengthening Fujian’s competitive edge in the global lithium battery market.
